Year 7 is focused on the smooth transition to secondary school and learning the rhythms of the day. Students in year 7 study 5 core subjects and have access to semester-long specialist subjects such as Digital Technology, Art and Performing Arts. Year 7 and 8 students also participate in a weekly Mentor program which encompasses work on resilience.
By Year 8, students are more familiar with secondary school and continue to build their knowledge and skills within the core and specialist subjects. This two-year rotation through the specialist subjects helps students to figure out what interests them, what challenges them and what they may pursue as they move through their schooling. Students also have the opportunity to participate in our Community Project which focuses on the development of their leadership skills and attributes and allows them to apply this learning through partnerships with our neighbouring primary school and other community organisations.
